The Permission Slip You've Been Waiting For

You know that moment when you're about to give someone advice, and suddenly you realize you're the one who needs to hear it most? Yeah, we need to talk about that.

For months now, I've been staring at blank screens and half-written drafts, waiting for the "perfect" moment to reach out to this community. I kept thinking, "I'll write when things slow down at my full-time job" or "I'll record that podcast episode when I have the perfect setup." Meanwhile, my gratitude journal (yes, the very one I created to help others stay focused) sat on my desk, giving me the side-eye.

Here's the thing about perfect timing – it's like trying to catch a unicorn. Magical in theory, but it doesn't actually exist.

So what's really been going on? I've been:

  • Working my full-time job (because bills don't pay themselves)

  • Building this coaching practice (because dreams don't build themselves either)

  • Living real life (hello, endless laundry and "what's for dinner?" questions)

  • And quite honestly, letting perfectionism be the thief of progress

But here's what I've learned during this unplanned pause: the very things I was waiting to be "perfect" before sharing were exactly what I needed to share all along. Because guess what? You might be waiting for perfect timing too. You might be putting off that thing – that dream, that project, that conversation – until conditions are "just right."

Consider this your permission slip to start anyway.

Starting doesn't mean you have it all figured out. It doesn't mean you have to quit your job, have a perfect plan, or know exactly where you're heading. It just means taking one small step forward, even if that step feels wobbly.

Speaking of wobbly steps, I'm taking quite a few:

  • Bringing back the podcast with some amazing guests who understand what it means to chase dreams while living real-life

  • Creating a new Action and Momentum journal (because sometimes we all need a gentle push)

  • Partnering with NAMI to ensure that a portion of my merchandise proceeds supports mental health resources (because taking care of our minds is non-negotiable)

  • Opening up space for new coaching clients (because you don't have to navigate this journey alone)

Here's what I know for sure: the magic isn't in waiting for perfect conditions – it's in starting anyway. It's in showing up, even when it's messy. It's in taking action, even when it's small.

So whether you're a longtime member of this community or you're new here (welcome!), consider this your invitation to embrace progress over perfection. Book that free consultation call. Grab that gratitude journal. Take that first wobbly step.

Because the truth is, you don't need perfect timing. You just need to start.

And if you're wondering if it's too late to begin? Well, look at me – here I am, starting again. And here you are, reading these words. Seems like pretty perfect timing to me.

Ready to stop waiting and start doing? I'd love to help. Book a free consultation call, check out the journal, or simply reply to this email with your story. Because sometimes the bravest thing we can do is simply begin.

Here's to imperfect action and real progress!

P.S. Speaking of progress, I'd love to hear from you. What have you been putting off until the "perfect" moment? Drop me a line – let's talk about making it happen, imperfect action and all."
